About

Avid writer, photographer, Campervan Capers blogger
... and experienced Cycling Widow

Born in Australia, Alannah Foley was raised in England and lived Down Under for five years in her twenties.  Before returning to Old Blighty, she discovered long-lost family, stayed on a camel farm, worked on a City Farm project, and got bitten by every mozzie around.

Alannah enjoys drawing her observations & ideas together into whatever form seems appropriate – be it a book, short story, article, poem, or song.  She is also an avid photographer and her images complement her writing in the Campervan Capers blog.

Alannah currently lives in Cornwall, England, with her cycling-obsessed partner.

So far, Alannah has published several books:

She has also released the following free eBooks:
Alannah has now released Campervan Capers and The Jacaranda Trail in print with CreateSpace (previously only available as an ebook).  Her Small World series of children's stories is scheduled for development at a later date.

TRIVIA
  • Alannah loves languages: she speaks French like a native (a seven-year-old one) and is fluent in Double Dutch.  "I also tried learning Turkish once, but it was all Greek to me."
  • Heckling the comedian Adam Bloom once at a gig, he described her as "Laura Ingalls with attitude".
  • Alannah's favourite dictionary is the Uxbridge English.  "I liked the OED, but it was a bit thin on plot.  I also just found out that a Thesaurus isn't a dinosaur after all, but a kind of dictionary!"
  • Possibly, her favourite (set of) quotations are:
To do is to be – Aristotle
To be or not to be – Shakespeare
To be is to do – Jean-Paul Sartre
Do be do be do – Frank Sinatra
